While Donald Trump Still Hears Voices

Iran’s National Security & Foreign Affairs Committee of the Majlis has apparently approved “the legislation tasking the government of the Islamic Republic with implementing a new legal regime on the Strait of Hormuz which will have security, environmental and financial aspects.”

It is a remarkable set of new rules solving the problems the US-Israeli war on Iran have created as regards the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian freelance journalist in Tehran, Fereshteh Sadeghi, posts on X,

Per approved legislation,

  • Iran will impose tolls on vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz (it will be in national currency, Rial)
  • America & Zionist regimes will be banned from passing through the Strait
  • Iran armed forces will guarantee safe passage for vessels
  • Countries that imposed unilateral sanctions on Iran will be barred from passing through the Strait of Hormuz
  • Iran will invite and ask Oman to be part of this new legal regime

Sadeghi adds,

“With this legislation becoming a law, Iran will shift from a country sanctioned by the West to a country that imposes sanctions on the West, ” and, “The next step is to discuss Iran’s withdrawal from the Non-Proliferation-Treaty, the NPT. Iran’s argument is, What’s the use of being a member of the NPT, when Iran is not allowed (by bullying powers) to enjoy the legal nuclear rights it has under this document?”
