Trump backed off last night. The idea of being mentioned in the same breath as the greatest mass murderers in history was too much: Gengis Khan, Timur, Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin, Mao Zedong, Pol Pot.
It is just one sentence, written down in a tweet on his Truth Social platform, on April 5, 2026, which doomed his fate:
“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. …”
A desperate Trump would have quickly become the most hated individual on Earth. An announced genocide, and even more horrendous, considering the two-and-half-thousand years history of the Iranian people.
Many have tried to keep track of Trump’s erratic proclamations during the 40 days of the unprovoked aggression on Iran, a joint war of choice suggested, maybe like a satanic whispering, by Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanjahu, a possible war criminal in its own right.
- Mar 3: “We won the war.”
- Mar 7: “We defeated Iran.”
- Mar 9: “We must attack Iran.” “The war is ending almost completely, and very beautifully.”
- Mar 12: “We did win, but we haven’t won completely yet.”
- Mar 13: “We won the war.”
- Mar 14: “Please help us.”
- Mar 15: “If you don’t help us, I will certainly remember it.”
- Mar 16: “Actually, we don’t need any help at all.” “I was just testing to see who’s listening to me.” “If NATO doesn’t help, they will suffer something very bad.”
- Mar 17: “We neither need nor want NATO’s help.” “I don’t need Congressional approval to withdraw from NATO.”
- Mar 18: “Our allies must cooperate in reopening the Strait of Hormuz.”
- Mar 19: “US allies need to get a grip -step up and help open the Strait of Hormuz”
- Mar 20: “NATO are cowards.”
- Mar 21: “We don’t use it, we don’t need to open it.”
- Mar 22: “This is the last time. I will give Iran 48 hours.” “Iran is Dead”
- Mar 23: “We are giving them more time.”
- Mar 24: “The war is nearing its end.”
- Mar 25: “We are still negotiating.”
- Mar 26: “Iran is begging for peace. They gave us a gift. We will give them more time. They wanted 6 days, I gave them 10”
- Mar 27: “Talks with Iran are going very well”
- Mar 28: “War will be over soon”
- Mar 29: “Maybe we take Kharg island, maybe we don’t”
- Mar 30: “Open the Strait or we will obliterate all energy infrastructure and oil wells”
- Mar 31: “We dont need the strait, we got plenty of oil. Get it yourself UK”
- April 1: “Iran’s New Regime President wants a ceasefire” / “Strongly considering pulling out of NATO” / “There’s no deal with Iran”
- April 2: “We bombed your bridge. Iran need to Surrender now”
- April 3: “Our military hasn’t even started destroying what’s left in Iran.”/ “With a little more time, we can easily OPEN THE HORMUZ STRAIT”
- April 4: “Time is running out – 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them”
- April 5: “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day. Al Hamdulillah”
- April 8: “Iran wants it to happen, they’ve had enough!”
The above is a revealing description of an embarrassing disaster. School children have been killed as well as many other civilians. Besides military compounds, civilian infrastructure was targeted by Israeli and US strikes.
The regime in Iran is weakened but still functioning, firing missiles and drones. The highly enriched Uranium was not found, save secured, in the chaotic operation south of Isfahan during Easter.
The North Atlantic Alliance has been alienated. It may have been damaged permanently. Nobody would trust Donald Trump’s words anymore. He has unleashed war on Iran twice during negotiations. Nobody would seriously engage in negotiations with such a guy any more.
Netanjahu had tried for decades, tried with various US president. Finally, he had found someone dumb enough to do it.
There was some relief today that the annihilation did not happen. People have bought time. But honestly, the war isn’t over. Trump may be.
