Daniel 5:18-31 tells us about the fate of Belshazzar, son of the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar,
18 “Your Majesty, the Most High God gave your father Nebuchadnezzar sovereignty and greatness and glory and splendor. 19 Because of the high position he gave him, all the nations and peoples of every language dreaded and feared him. Those the king wanted to put to death, he put to death; those he wanted to spare, he spared; those he wanted to promote, he promoted; and those he wanted to humble, he humbled. 20 But when his heart became arrogant and hardened with pride, he was deposed from his royal throne and stripped of his glory. 21 He was driven away from people and given the mind of an animal; he lived with the wild donkeys and ate grass like the ox; and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven, until he acknowledged that the Most High God is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and sets over them anyone he wishes.
22 “But you, Belshazzar, his son, have not humbled yourself, though you knew all this. 23 Instead, you have set yourself up against the Lord of heaven. You had the goblets from his temple brought to you, and you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines drank wine from them. You praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways. 24 Therefore he sent the hand that wrote the inscription.
25 “This is the inscription that was written:
mene, mene, tekel, parsin
26 “Here is what these words mean:
Mene: God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end.
27 Tekel: You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting.
28 Peres: Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.”
29 Then at Belshazzar’s command, Daniel was clothed in purple, a gold chain was placed around his neck, and he was proclaimed the third highest ruler in the kingdom.
30 That very night Belshazzar, king of the Babylonians, was slain, 31 and Darius the Mede took over the kingdom, at the age of sixty-two. (Emphasis added.)
It is said that Donald Trump doesn’t sleep well. Apparently, for quite some time now, he has been using the early hours after midnight to feverishly post content on his own broadcasting channel, the platform Truth Social. By now, his war against Iran—waged without a defined objective—is being explicitly labeled as such in various quarters, including by the media and politicians like German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
Meanwhile, what may well be the largest funeral ceremony in history is taking place in Iran, as the late, assassinated Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is finally laid to rest at his final resting place in Mashhad—near Iran’s national saint, the eighth Shiite Imam, Ali ar-Rida. He thought they all hate the Ayatollah!
When tens of millions showed up in Tehran, Qom, Najaf, Kerbala and Mashhad mourning the late Ayatollah, even attacking the current negotiators of the infamous and defunct Memorandum of Misunderstanding, President of the Parliament, Masoud Pezeshkian, and Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, for treason.
Explicitly, Khamenei’s son, Mojtaba, the new Supreme Leader in hiding, has expressed disagreement with the negotiated MoU but had given the negotiators a free hand, for the time being. Later, Pezeshkian was summoned to the Assembly of Experts in Qom for explanations.
Now millions of Iranians called for the assassination of Donald Trump in revenge for killing their Ayatollah, and when Israel’s intelligence warns him of new Iranian plots to kill him he must get a feeling of Belshazzar on his last day. That the old legend of the Bible even mentions the Persians!
Who is the sage who might tell Donald Trump that he has lost the game, is dead already. After he had stumbled into this unprovoked war (upon whispering Benjamin Netanyahu told him so), Plan B – the MoU– failed so miserably. Everybody could see the difference between that highly ambiguous and, as to its diplomatic parlance, worthless memorandum of 3 pages and, what he still called The Obama Deal, a 159 pages detailed agreement with Iran, which functioned well until he left the JCPOA because of, well, what? Just hatred for Obama? And even worse! The world raised eyebrows when they discovered: Trump lost the war, Iran won.
Is there a Plan C?
Who is the sage?
