Reset: Obliteration, Kharg Island, Nukes

Today, President Donald Trump’s placed again the record with the skip on the turntable. In a cameo appearance on Fox & Friends today, Trump gives another example of his delusions.

Iran is “dying to make a deal” and “is being decimated,” the president says. “They’re really in submission,” he says. “The just don’t know that.”

The president said his “preference” is to next to take Kharg Island, but he’s not sure Americans have the “stomach” for it as they likely want a quicker end to the war.

“My preference would be that. I don’t know that America has the stomach for it, to be honest with you. You’re going to make a fortune. But I don’t t know that American has the stomach. I think they’d like to see us come home,” he said.

The Iranian oil hub, Kharg island, is most probably to be attacked from near-by U.S. bases in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Although official deployment plans are classified, analyses and recent events point to various factors that make Kuwait a central component of a complex operation—an operation that undoubtedly also requires the use of ground troops. The Kuwaiti airbases, such as Ali Al-Salem are already being utilised for American operations and have recently been attacked by Iran in retaliation for U.S. strikes.

If Trump decides to take Kharg, Kuwait will definitely been dragged into the war.

On Truth Social Trump threatened Iran this afternoon explicitly.

The United States will be hitting Iran (Whose Navy, Air Force, Radar, Anti Aircraft, and all other forms of Defense, together with most of its offensive capability, are GONE!), VERY HARD TONIGHT. At some point in the not too distant future, we will be taking Kharg Island, and other oil infrastructure points, and assume total control of their Oil and Gas Markets, much like we have with Venezuela, which is working out brilliantly for both Venezuela and the United States of America. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

One need not think much of Seymour Hersh these days. Nevertheless, on his Substack, Hersh reported yesterday that he had heard almost desperate Trump once more considers nukes to bomb Iran into submission.

I was told that the president’s talk about the need to target Iran’s underground missile production facilities was along the lines of determining whether the use of a nuclear weapon “was doable.” It seemed clear that Trump was aware, as a December, 2025 Congressional Research Survey study put it, that he, as president, has the “sole authority to authorize the use of US nuclear weapons . . . in his Constitutional role as Commander in Chief.” The four-star commander of the US Strategic Command is responsible only to give the president advice, when requested.

It was amid what could be called a “what to do” meeting that a frustrated and angry Trump, perhaps only thinking out loud, raised the issue of using low-yield nuclear weapons to destroy “some” of Iran’s underground missile factories. I was told by someone with extensive knowledge of nuclear weaponry that it was “a very scary and very serious moment.” The president was depicted at this point to be “desperate not to lose in Iran.” His idea was to warn the Iranian leadership that “we are very seriously” considering such an escalation. I was told that the president apparently “was talked out of” any thought of nuclear escalation.

Fortunately, “he was talked out of” any thought of nuclear escalation. Yet, he is certainly capable of it. And, the timing seems well-considered. The world is distracted by the footballers.
